现代会议频繁,是人们从事各类有组织的活动的一种重要方式。在商界之中,由于会议发挥着不同的作用,因此有着多种类型的划分。依照会议的具体性质来进行分类,商界的会议大致可以分:行政型会议、 业务型会议、群体型会议、社交型会议。一般而论,这四种类型的常见于商界的会议,除群体型会议之外,均与商界各单位的经营、管理直接相关,因此人们称之为商务会议。可见在商务领域和交往中,商务会议发扮演极其重要的角色。如果你在一家国际企业工作,大多数的商务会议将用英语进行。在该试验中,同学们将有机会以“A Business Meeting”为主题,充分发挥自己的想象力和创造力,自己设定会议议题,通过团队协作进行表演,并掌握一些有关商务会议的常用表达,例如如何控制会议进程、阐述观点、打断对方发言、达成会议共识、结束会议等。同学们在提高语言交际能力,培养了自主创新能力及英语学习兴趣的同时,也为今后的职场就业做好准备。表4-4是一些商务会议的常用英语表达
